Single-Start Worm Shafts

Single-start worm shafts are specified as part of a complete worm-and-wheel relationship. Start count, wheel tooth count, module or pitch, hand, lead angle and center distance need to agree before the shaft can be manufactured or replaced correctly.Use this category for drawing-led single-start parts, not as a shortcut for choosing ratio or self-locking behavior. Operating speed, lubrication, load and back-driving requirements still belong in the design or replacement review.
